Doyle Franklin McGowan, ''Big Mac'', 82 of Jonesboro, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the Craighead Nursing Center. He was born March 11, 1935 in Bono to Willie F. and Clara McGowan. Doyle lived in Pine Bluff for over 40 years before returning to Jonesboro in 2013. He was retired from the Cotton Belt Railroad, served in the National Guard and was a member of the Herman Baptist Church. Doyle enjoyed woodworking, brick laying, basket and chair weaving.
Preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary June McGowan; son, Russell Moore; brother, Wm. ''Bill'' McGowan; sister, Ellen Holladay.
Survivors include, son, Mark F. (Donna) McGowan of White Hall; daughter in law, Debbie Moore; grandchildren, Mika Moore Pruett, Eric Moore, Cory Moore, Scarlotte McGowan Holcomb, Katie McGowan Yarberry; great grandchildren, Lawson and Cooper Pruett, Haley Welch, Ella Moore, Zandir Moore, MacKayla Owen, Madeline Holcomb, Sydney Yarberry and Mackenzie June Moore.
Funeral service will be Monday, December 18, 2017 at 2:00 pm, in the Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Doug Welborn will be officiating. Burial will follow at Herman Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eric Moore, Cory Moore, Scott Pruett, Byron Harris, Clinton McGowan, Wayne Winn, Thomas Northern and Perry Veazey.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until time of service.

I worked with Mac for many years and he was always a very good friend. I will miss him.
I graduated high school with Doyle. My husband, Larry played basketball with Doyle. He was a special person. Rest in Peace, friend.
I have so many great memories of him and his wife. They were a huge part of my childhood. Rest in peace sweet man
Uncle Doyle was the most kindest, funniest, sweetest man. Childhood memories of him are the fondest. See you Shawpa!
