Elsie E. Jackson, 73, of Jonesboro, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center. She was born July 10, 1943, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Ellis and Elizabeth (Key) Smith.
She was of the Baptist belief and retired from Riceland Foods. She enjoyed time with family and friends. She will be remembered for her laughter and love of life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Andy Jackson; one sister and one brother.
She is survived by two daughters, Teressa Jackson and Karen (Bill) Pate, both of Jonesboro; three brothers, Jerry Smith, Billy Smith, and Larry Smith; three sisters, Carolyn Bowman, Faye Edwards Dewald, and Cheryle Barnett; and two granddaughters, Heather (Chris) Boothman of Jonesboro and Stephanie (Trevor) Hawkins of Bryant. She also leaves behind many loving friends and relatives.
There will be a memorial service at 12:30pm Tuesday, July 11, at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, with Danny Harlan officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00am until time of service.
The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her including those in St. Bernard's ICU, nurses on 3-North, and the St. Bernard's pulmonologists and cardiologists.
I don't know Mrs. Jackson or her family but the light just shines around her in this picture. You can tell she had a good time in life and I am sure she passed that joy and happiness down to her family. You are in my prayers.
