Mary Louise Simmons, 86, of Hallsville, TX, formally of Jonesboro, passed away, Wednesday, January 4, 2017. She was born February 13, 1930 in Black Oak to Burl and Myrtle Estelle Fisher Selman. She was a graduate of Valley View High School, Class of 1944. She enjoyed rock hunting, camping, fishing, gardening. She loved any activity that kept her moving and on the go. Louise retired from General Electric after 32 years. As a lifelong dumpster diver, she never met a stuffed animal or baby doll that couldn't be saved. Never meeting a stranger, she especially loved children and animals. She had the ability to make up bedtime stories on the spot and make them come to life, also playing hide and seek and pop up Mickey. Louise was an amazing cook as well. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.

Preceding her in death are her husband; Henry Simmons, sons; Jerry and Alvin Simmons, grandson; Ryan Simmons.

Survivors include, daughters; Brenda LaGrone of Hallsville, TX., Gayle Shinault of Jonesboro, sister; Rosetta Hudson of Jonesboro, grandchildren; Rebecca and Brett Campbell of Hallsville, TX., Cheryl and James Pierce of Benton, Jennifer and Tony Flynn of Little Rock, Logan and Terrica Simmons of Hernando, MS., Cody and Whitney Simmons of Vicksburg, MS., along with eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home Chapel with Wynndell King officiating. Pallbearers will be, David Hudson, Keith Hudson, Logan Simmons, Cody Simmons, James Pierce and Brett Campbell.

Visitation will be Friday, January 6, 2017 from 6:00 PM '''' 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
