Carl M. Rogers, 87, of Lake City, died Sunday, June 12, 2016. He was born December 6, 1928, at Bay, to Noel and Avis Holt Rogers.
He had been an owner/operator of a Gulf Service Station, a local motel, farmed at Lake City, and was a salesman at Blackwell-Baldwin Cadillac. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Lake City United Methodist Church, and formerly of Fisher Street United Methodist Church in Jonesboro, and the Lake City Senior Citizens group.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Lorene Box Rogers and Cora Sue Roe Rogers; brother, Ed Rogers; and sister, Marguerite Sutterfield.
He is survived by two sisters, Ruth (Bob) Rogers Blackwood, of Little Rock, and Peggy Trusty of Jonesboro; two sons, Gene (Vanessa) Rogers, of Lake City; and Ted (Cathy) Rogers, of Jonesboro; his daughter, Terry Rogers, of Lake City; a step-daughter, Shauna (Malissia) Boatman; grandchildren, Jordan (Thomas) Ziegler of Springdale, Wendy (Brian) Bass of Cabot; Ross Rogers of Jonesboro, Hunter and Landon Rogers of Lake City, Jessica Boatman of Jonesboro, and Shaun Boatman of Lake City; six great-grandchildren, and many friends, relatives, and loved ones.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 13th, 6:00pm-8:00pm at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 W Washington, Jonesboro. There will be a graveside funeral service on Tuesday, June 14th, at 10:00am, at Jonesboro Memorial Park, with Bro. Jerry Reed officiating.
Pallbearers will be Gary Jeffers, Randy Jeffers, Landon Rogers, Ross Rogers, Hunter Rogers, Thomas Ziegler and Brian Bass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lake City United Methodist Church, 600 Buffalo Street, Lake City, AR 72437.
