Mr. Roosevelt ''R.V'' Walker, 78, of Jonesboro passed away Friday at his home. He was born May 15, 1935 in Oneida, Arkansas. R.V. enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member and head usher of First General Baptist Church. His working career included Mac Knight Sawmill and Riceland Foods.
Preceding Mr. Walker in death are his father Thomas Walker and father, Thomas Driver; mother, Mary Smith Walker Driver; one sister and 4 brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Melba Walker of the home; son, Robbie and Melissa Walker of Lorado, Arkansas; step-son, Troy Cooper of Austin, Texas; three daughters, Brenda Miles of Little Rock, Michelle Walker of North Little Rock and Rose Walker and Steve Hall of Salem, Oregon; step-daughter, Lois and John Evans of Sherwood, Arkansas; grandchildren, Gary York and Samuel Miles of Little Rock, Katie Damron and Cristina Walker of Paragould, Lucas Walker, Anna Walker and Abbie Peck of North Little Rock; Great Grandchildren, Tera and Zane Damron of Paragould; brother, Larry Driver of Helena-West Helena; sisters, Mae Holcomb of Jonesboro and Linda Mimms of Helena.
There will be a chapel service Wednesday at 10:00am at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home with Brother Randy Page officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Hill Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers are Robbie Walker, Larry Driver, Lucas Walker, Steve Hall, Eddie Black and Freddie Black. Honorary Pallbearers include, the men of First General Baptist Church, John Evans and Josh Patterson.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:00pm-8:00pm.
