Earl Reggie Blaess, 61 of Atlanta, Georgia died on July 11, 2015 of heart failure and related complications. Reggie was born on January 10, 1954 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Eloise (Lynn) Blaess (formerly of Scott, Arkansas) and Earl Oscar Blaess of Ann Arbor, Michigan. He attended Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan, music camp at Interlochen, Michigan and was a graduate of Michigan State University.
Reggie was in the cable business throughout his career; first as a cable business owner and later as an employee of Comcast. He mastered the double bass and performed classical, jazz, and rock. He enjoyed time with his dogs, friends and fishing on Norris Lake in Snellville, Georgia. His love of travel included trips with his wife Kathy to Arkansas to visit family, Michigan to visit friends and to the wild west to visit mother, sister and brother-in-law.
He is survived by mother Eloise Lynn Blaess and sister Thea Lynn Blaess Carruth of Denver; wife Kathy Barr Blaess, mother-in-law Janice Barr and in-laws Daniel, Paul, and Anne Barr all of Atlanta; and his cousins whom he considered his siblings. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Oscar Blaess.
A family, graveside service will be held at the Keo Cemetery on July 18, 2015. A memorial service will be held in Atlanta at a later time. Roller-England Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
