Hi, this is cousin Jean Britton, Joe Britton's daughter. I am crushed to hear of the passing of cousin David in 2014. I had an illness during that time and into 2015 and completely lost track of our correspondence. Then it slipped my mind. Please accept my prayers and condolences.

Hi - I’m Lee Ann’s sister. I also just now learned of David‘s passing. David was older but he always talked to me like I was was a grownup which I appreciated. I remember visiting when they all lived in Galveston. That was my first time to get in the ocean and to eat cocktail shrimp – what a treat ! I also enjoyed visiting the museum in Arkansas where they had that awesome miniature train and watching Aunt Rea feed the deer in their backyard. Love to Sally and the family ...

Sally, I'm so sorry for your loss. David was a mentor to me from the very first day I started at 911. He was so funny. I would have the hardest time trying to get him to understand my silly questions but once he understood what I was asking he always had an answer. He was a walking, talking encyclopedia of Van Buren County and there are certain things that I only felt comfortable asking him about my job. I can't begin to tell you how much I will miss him. Please stop in and visit 911 sometime, it was one of David's works in progress.

To the family of my Masonic Brother David:
I made my acquaintance with David in the York Rite of Freemasonry. And, we were together enjoying that part of our Fraternity just this past Saturday. I always found David to be a calming influence and willing helper in all circumstances. I know of his wider endeavors in the civic area. His absence here on Earth will certainly be felt by many. I will miss the opportunity to work with him in the earthly Lodge next year. But, I rejoice in the belief that he now sits in the "Celestial Lodge above, t hat House not made with hands, eternal in the Heavens".
