Altha (Haigwood) Rider, 95, of Cave City, Arkansas, died Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at White River Medical Center.

Born October 4, 1921, in Cord, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Charley Edgar Haigwood and Minnie Elnora (Martin) Haigwood.

Altha was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved horses, cooking and gardening. She was of the Missionary Baptist faith.

Survivors include a son, Ernest R. Rider (Donna) of Kiowa, Colorado; daughter, Imogene Girtman of Cave City; grandchildren, Teresa McKay, Greg Girtman, Becky Baker, Rae Ann McCardell, Brian Rider, Erick Rider, and Justin Rider; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Alvis Haigwood (Beatrice) of Ohio, Coy Haigwood of Cushman, Arkansas, James Leland Haigwood (Lorene) of Locust Grove, Arkansas and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest Durward Rider (?); daughter, Brenda Jackson; three brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Roller-Crouch McGee Chapel in Cave City with Kevin Cooper and Johnny Cooper officiating. Music will be provided by Johnny Cooper and Donna Stout.

Pallbearers will be Chris Baker, Michael Foley, Greg Girtman, Brian Rider, Justin Rider and Keith Mize.

Honorary pallbearers are L. C. Spurlock, Paul Bray, Steve Staggs, Erick Rider, Curt Coles, Clay Neal and Ernest Ray Doyle.

Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery at Charlotte under the direction of Roller-Crouch-McGee Funeral Home of Cave City.

Visitation will be from 12:30-2:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.

So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the
words spoken at Revelation 21:3,4 "(3) With that I heard
a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God
is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they
will be his people. And God himself will be with them.

death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry
nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
