Mildred Frampton Pritchard

of Arlington, TX

October 23, 1925 - October 13, 2016

Mildred (Midge) Frampton Pritchard, 90, of Hardy, Arkansas and Arlington, Texas, passed away on October 13, 2016 after battling Alzheimer's for several years.

Midge was born on October 23, 1925 to Jay and Leta Frampton in Niles, Ohio. She had an older sister, Marge, and a younger brother, John.

Midge excelled in school, graduating near the top of her class at Niles High School and went on to graduate from Baldwin Wallace College. She then completed her education obtaining her dietician degree and license from Johns Hopkins University. During the war years she was a real 'Rosie the Riveter,' working in the steel plant in Youngstown, Ohio. On June 6, 1950, she married Leslie E. Pritchard, Jr. in Niles. Less went on to study to become a Presbyterian minister and together they served churches in Ohio and Iowa before their final church, Spring River Presbyterian Church in Hardy, Arkansas. They raised three boys, Leslie, David, and Mark.

Following her husband's death in 1989, Midge expanded her responsibilities at the church and never missed a Sunday if she was in town. The church and serving God was truly the center of her life. Midge was also a devoted steward of the community food room doing her best to see no area family went hungry. Midge would go out for a Latte with friends at every opportunity often several times a day. She traveled the world with her friends visiting many wonderful places. Of course, she truly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, even after she became ill.

Midge is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister and brother. She is survived by her sons Less and his wife, Mary; David and his wife, Martha; Mark and his wife, Charline; and beloved granddaughters, Ashley, Megan and Molly. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, and many friends situated all around the United States.

A memorial service will be held at Spring River Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 10:30 a.m., the Rev. Cinthia Jean Saul officiating. Committal will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, Highland, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spring River Presbyterian Church, 151 Wahpeton Hill Road, Hardy, AR 72542.
