William Blaine ''Bill'' Pickard, 85, of Strawberry died Friday, March 20, 2015, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.

Born May 30, 1929 in Stockton, Illinois, he was the son of Raymond Pickard and Lucile Farell Pickard.

Bill was a U. S. Army Veteran, having served in Korea and Panama. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, building and racing stock cars, fishing, auctions and raising chickens. He was a ''wheeler dealer'', big hearted, and loved to help others. Bill and his wife owned and operated several businesses during their lifetime. He was a member of the VFW at Evening Shade.

Survivors include a son, Steven Pickard of Strawberry; three daughters Jean Ann Murphy and her husband, Bill, of Denver Colorado, Laura Rohr and Diane Schnick and her fiancé, Ron, of Strawberry; grandchildren: Teresa Robinson and her husband, Aaron, of Washington; Shaun Murphy and Melissa Murphy both of Denver, Jeffery Derrickson and his wife, Janet, of Cave City, Joshua Derrickson and his wife, Miranda, of Alabama, Paul Short and his wife, Kelly, of Melbourne, Karista Love and her husband, Blake, of Strawberry, Kelly McNaughton and his wife, Gail, of Sherwood, Arkansas, Kelsi Hill and her husband, Eddie, of Pfeiffer, Arkansas, Staci McNaughton and C.J. Schnick, both of Strawberry; fifteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Gerald Smith and his wife, Marjorie, of Rockford, Illinois; a sister, Lorraine Doran of Rockford; many nieces and nephews and close family friends, Barry McNaughton of Strawberry and Anita Smith of Cave City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elizabeth Rury Pickard; a brother, Mac Smith; and two sisters, Ruth Cosgrove and Anna Marie Geraci.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Roller-Crouch-McGee Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City.

Visitation is from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Wednesday prior to the service.
