I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. Bates' death. She sat at the table very close to my mother while at the nursing home. I used to see one of you boys come every night to sit with her at the evening meal just as I did with my mom, like Joan Horn Crouch with Miss Marie and Betty Jean with Miss Tommie Jean Robinson. This is very difficult for you all and I am so sorry. May the Lord be with you all thru this very difficult time.

Aunt Iris is healed and I know she was greeted in Heaven by all her loved ones who went before her and safely in the arms of Jesus. What a great reunion. Jack and my prayers are with you all during this difficult time. Aunt Iris was a beautiful sweet lady who will be missed. Love to all, Jack and Pat (Blevins) Smogoleski

Dear Bates Family,
I have many fond memories of Iris and have really enjoyed spending time with her at Cave City Nursing Home this past year. Her blackberry cobbler was just the best!
