Vania Helen Brooks Edwards, 91, of Mount Pleasant, Arkansas went to be with her Lord on Friday, September 9, 2016, at her home in Mount Pleasant.
Born April 24, 1925, in Lafferty, Arkansas to Richard and Dona Brooks, she was the oldest of five girls. She married Walter Allen ''Jack'' Edwards on August 12, 1939. She was a homemaker and did sewing and alterations for Mount Pleasant and the surrounding communities for 35 years. She loved the Lord and was a prayer warrior. She was an active member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant.
She is survived by three sons, Conny Edwards and his wife, Kay, of Gainesville, Florida, Ronny Edwards and his wife, Angela, of Micanopy, Florida, Thomas Edwards and his wife, Kobie of Melbourne, Arkansas; one daughter, Shay Lee and her husband, Larry, of Mount Pleasant; seven grandchildren, David Edwards, Tammy Lindsay, Chad Edwards, Scott Stine, Milissa Kaufman, Kyle Edwards, and Cassie Ward; nine great-grandchildren, Jessica Lindsay, Hunter Edwards, Zach Lindsay, Lauren Kaufman, Blake Kaufman, Dawson Edwards, Brennan Edwards, Jack Edwards, and Luke Edwards; four step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Reba Collins of Bokchito, Oklahoma and Myrtle Henry of Melbourne. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters, Mildred Holowell and Stella Petterson.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Edwards, Quillen Edwards, Keith Grimes, Nathan Caraway, Ronnie Love and Gary Sims.
Honorary pallbearers are Matthew Edwards, Tim Edwards, D.R. Edwards, Cecil House, Bryan Collins, and W. C. Evans.
The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant with Bro. Elvis Sneathern officiating. Interment will be at Reeve's Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne.
The visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, September 12, 2016, at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Such a wonderful sweet lady! "Aunt Vinnie" was loved by many family and friends. She was always lovable and respectful of family. She will be greatly missed by everyone. Rest in Peace. Love you, Jennifer Cowan and Etta J. McSparren.
