Richard Lynn Billingsley, 62, of Violet Hill, Arkansas, died Sunday, July 17, 2016.
He was born in Yakima, Washington on May 25, 1954 to Ronald Loyce and Bertha Mae (Yancey) Billingsley.
He was a retired teacher and superintendent from the Concord School District; an avid Razorback football fan; and a member of the Fairview Baptist Church. He was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend to all he met.
Survivors include his daughter, Diane Gross and husband, Brandon, of Mountain Home; his son, Randal Billingsley of Violet Hill; three grandchildren, Haley Weatherford, Chloe Weatherford, and Abby Gross. He is also survived by his mother, Bertha Billingsley of Violet Hill; a brother, Ron Billingsley and wife, Patty, of Jonesboro; and two sisters, Saundria Ash of Mountain Home and Cindy Weaver and her husband, Tim, of Melbourne. Other survivors include his soul mate, Patty Conyers and several nieces, nephews, aunt and uncle, Charlie and Gaye Ramsey and Carol Yancey.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Loyce Billingsley; and a brother, Mark Billingsley.
Pallbearers will be Floyd Campbell, Matt Ramsey, Steven Dew, Randy Billingsley, Brandon Gross, and Darrell Campbell. Honorary pallbearers are his nieces and nephews, Bob Williams, Curly Stevens, Robby Callahan, Perry Callahan, and Joey Hall.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the Fairview Baptist Church in Violet Hill with Bro. Randy Bailey, Dr. Terry Yancey, and Ron Billingsley officiating. Burial will follow at Violet Hill Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne.
Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the church prior to the service.
