Duane ''Buck'' Guthrie, 87, a veteran of World War II, shared his love of life, family and friends from June 30, 1928 until June 7, 2016 when he was called home to be with our Lord.
He was preceded in death by parents, Alfred and Lucretia Guthrie; three brothers, Alfred Jr., James, and Ernie; two sisters, Leona and Betty Jo; and one granddaughter, Connie Marie.
He is survived by Dorothy, his wife of 64 years, of Violet Hill; his sons, David and Jim; his daughter, Brenda; his grandchildren, Krista, Lucretia, Montana, Tammie, Lorrie, James, Jennie, and Beckie; and five great-grandchildren, Brayden, Laynie, Ethan, Dylon, and Kaleb. He is also survived by many family and friends too numerous to list, that will all miss his larger than life presence.
A graveside service will be held on June 14, 2016 at the Forest Hills Cemetery in Violet Hill.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Hospital Research Foundation, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

So sorry for the families loss. It is very difficult dealing with the loss of a loved one. I hope that comfort may be found in the Bible and in prayer to God. For God is close to those broken hearted. ( Psalms 34:18 ). How we look forward to seeing our loved ones soon. As found at Acts 24:15, " there is going to be a resurrection ".
