Howard Williams was born on Sunday, July 21, 1929, in the Lunenberg community in Izard County, Arkansas, to Corbit Williams and Florence Lawson Williams. He died on Monday, December 21, 2015, in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 86 years and 5 months.
Howard was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as an insurance agent for many years, he was member of the Gideons International for 35 years, and a member of the Believers Southern Baptist Church in Wichita, Kansas.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Sloan Williams; a son, Christopher Williams and his wife Liora of Melbourne; Step-son Greg Grizzle and his wife Virginia of San Diego, California; a daughter, Karen Caney and her husband Russ of Alta Loma, California; a step-daughter, Cheryl Crager and her husband Curtis of Wichita, Kansas; a brother, Roy Williams and his wife Paula of Wichita, Kansas; a sister Annie Weaver of Violet Hill, Arkansas; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Wilma Teague Williams; three brothers, Leonard Williams, Otto Williams, and Glen Williams; a sister, Mildred Cooper; two brothers-in-law, Wayne Weaver and Paul Cooper.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2015, at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel in Melbourne, with Doyne Robertson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Smith Family Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to funeral service on Sunday at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel in Melbourne.
Pallbearers will be Gregg Robinson, Phillip Williams, Jerry Williams, Doyle Weaver, Tim Weaver and Eric Weaver. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Weaver, Bob Cooper, Randy Williams and Eric Teague.
