Lindel A. Barnes was born on Thursday, January 22, 1925 in Bono, Arkansas to Theodore Barnes and Nellie Stropes Barnes. He died on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at his home in Brockwell, at the age of 90 years, 8 months, and 29 days of age.

He was a devout Christian, a loving father and husband, a man of his word, and loved to farm and garden.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lora Bell Owens Barnes, a son, Earl Barnes and his wife Renee of Brockwell, two daughters, Helen Vest and her husband Kenneth of Melbourne and Mary Hiles and her husband Dennis of Brockwell, a daughter-in-law Sharon Barnes, nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Roy Barnes, and a brother, Troy Barnes.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2015, at the Brockwell Pentecostal Church, with Earl Barnes officiating. Burial will follow the service at Wideman Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 22, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Melbourne.

Pallbearers are Michael Vest, Ricky Hiles, Brandon Hiles, Randy Hiles, Alan Barnes and Steve Jones. Honorary Pallbearers are Ben Nichols, Mike Sansone, Andrew Treat, Dalton Grigg, and Dennis Hiles.
