Carolyn Bigness, 75, of Melbourne, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 30, 2014.
She was born in Mountain Pine, Arkansas on November 12, 1938 to Bert William Whitecotton and Carrie Mae (McReynolds) Whitecotton. She was a homemaker, a lifelong Christian and a faithful member of the First Assembly of God in Melbourne
She devoted her life to her family and as a wife, mother, and grandmother; she was the heart of the home. She wrote heavenly inspired poetry that flowed on to napkins, puzzle books, or whatever piece of paper was available. Making and sending greeting cards was another of her talents and she enjoyed sending them to friends and family sharing her love and encouragement.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Jodie Bigness of the home; one son, Chris Bigness and his wife, Victoria of Zion; two daughters: Gloria Davis and her husband, Steve of Bethesda, Linda Smith and her husband, Jimmy of Newark; six grandchildren: Brandon Bigness, Christy Bigness, Brent Davis, Todd Smith, Jonathan Smith, and Sara Smith; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by a niece, two nephews, and many other friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Bert Wayne Whitecotton.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Smith, Brandon Bigness, Brent Davis, Todd Smith, Robert Nelson, Brett Marlin, Cody Davis, and Joseph Davis.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Roller-Crouch Chapel in Melbourne with Rev. James Stone officiating. Burial will follow at Combs Cemetery in Melbourne under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Carolyn was an amazing person who loved with all her heart and she had a big heart .She always greeted everyday with a smile and a positive attitude. She filled many lives with love and the knowledge of Christ. She was a true Christian and loved to tell everyone how great God is! She is now in his presence and looking down with a smile on all her loved ones watching and waiting till the day they are all there together in heaven. God Bless!
