Jack Oxner was born to Owens and Mary Oxner on July 16, 1949. Jack has been with the Lee County Sheriff's department since 1980 and served as Sheriff for the past eleven years. He was the Rondo Fire Chief for twenty-two years and served in the National Guard for six years. He was also a member of the American Legion for years and President of the Lee County Water Board Association. Jack is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Frances Oxner, one son, Matt Oxner (Amy) of Rondo, one daughter, Tiffany Bonkoski (Jeff) of Heber Springs, his father Owens Oxner of Rondo and one sister Becky Fant (Gary), of Grenada, Mississippi. He leaves behind grandchildren, Chase Golden of Jonesboro, Madeline Oxner of Rondo, J.P. Bonkoski of Heber Springs, Brooke Bonkoski of Heber Springs and Jackson Oxner of Rondo. Also, a host of nieces and nephews and close companions and dedicated staff at the Lee County Sheriff and Collectors office.
Jack was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Oxner and two sisters, Janice Bearden of Crossett and Glenda Oxner of Rondo.
Pallbearers will be Keith Lamb, Ray Wood, David Caraway, George Saltsgraver, Ocie Banks, Odell Smith, James Guynes and Mike Middleton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Corey Wilson and Billy Lindsey.
Services for Mr. Oxner will be held Friday, April 22, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church in Marianna, Arkansas. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in Marianna, Arkansas. Burial will be held at Marianna Memorial Park.
