Velma Rose Lantrip Lake, 94 of Memphis, Tennessee formally of Rondo, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2015. She was born February 28, 1921 to Leslie Lantrip and Ida Ruyon
Velma leaves her daughter, JoAnn Lake-Winter (Henry); sons, Milburn ''Joe'' Joseph Lake Jr. (Hazel), James ''Jimmy'' David Lake (Teresa), Jeffrey Lake (Georgie); 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Velma was preceded in death by her husband Milburn J. Lake and son John Edward.
Velma served her country in World War II as a Navy Wave. She was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and a member of The Memphis Belle's. She retired from the Lee County School District after 16 Years. She was also on the Lee County Rice and Cotton Council.
Services will be held Sunday October 4, 2015 at 2:00p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday evening October 3, 2015 from 6-8:00p.m. at the funeral home.

To Mrs. Lake's family, I want to let you know that the Lindsey family has been and will continue to pray for you all. Mrs. Lake was a very beautiful and loving person and we have special memories of her, along with all of you. Where have the years gone? If you need any of us, we will be there for you!
