David Edward Shaver, 79, of Destin, Florida passed away, October 17, 2017. He was born July 1, 1938 in Hartford, Connecticut to Donald and Dorothy Widen Shaver.
David had a 36-year career with the United Parcel Service as an Industrial Engineer, working in many regions in the United States and Germany.
He is preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Robert Kennedy; first wife, Alice Chartier Shaver. David is survived by his wife, Linda Shaver; step-sons, Michael Meaders (Kim) and Scott Meaders (Lori); daughter, Susan Shaver; sisters, Penny Frank (Doug) and Linda Mahoney; brothers, Donald Shaver (Bobbi) and Rob Kennedy (Meg); sister-in-law, Clare Chartier Wolf (Steve); nine grandchildren and two great-grandsons
Graveside inurnment service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, AR. Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 30, 2017 at Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike, Canton, CT 06019.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org or American Heart Association, www.donatenow.heart.org.

David will be missed by all that knew him. He graciously shared his thoughts, time and laughter. I will miss his laugh and visits to Destin. Family was everything to David and he enjoyed telling stories about them and enjoyed his family visits. I have watched Linda dote over David these last few years with affection and patience. Linda, you are an amazing women. God Bless and my condolence to family and friends.

I am so lucky to have had an Uncle like David in my life. I will miss our conversations, but will always feel the love you felt for me and everyone else in the family. We will all miss David immensely. Extra strength to Linda and Susie to get through these most difficult few weeks.
