Bob Gene Wells Sr, 84, of Little Rock, AR passed away on June 14, 2017 at home under Hospice Home Care. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold J. Wells and Flossie M. Brown; sister, Jacque Jones; his wife of 60 years, Jimmilee Griffith Wells; son, Steve J. Wells; and great-grandson Adam Thompson. He is survived by his five children, Bobby G. Wells Jr., Jimmilee Denise Wells-Gillies, Jaqueline Deloris Raup, James Ross Wells, and Jessica DeAnn Riddick; grandchildren, Savannah Wells, Rebecca Wells, Collin Gillies, Benjamin Padgett, Kristie Wendt, Jon Thompson Jr., Sean Thompson, Jessica Elizabeth Wells Riddick, Walter Garrett Riddick IV, and Donovan Eugene Wells Riddick; and great-grandchildren Tyler Padgett, Katelynn Padgett, Bailey Wendt, Logan Wendt, and Landon Thompson, as well as, his faithful companion Pep-Pep.

Bob was born January 5, 1933 in Sheridan, AR. He graduated from Little Rock High School in 1951, where he played trombone in the Tiger Marching band. He held jobs early in his career with Levy Lumber Co., Reynold's Metal Co., Borden's Dairy, General Air-Condition Corp., Refrigeration and Electrical Supply Co., Berclair Electric, as well as working as a self-employed electrician and mechanic. On March 17, 1954, he joined the 106th Army Band as a corporal and was honorable discharged on January 7, 1955. He also served as a staff sergeant in the United States Marine Corps Reserve on Dec 1, 1964. He was also employed as a civil service electrician with the United States Navy, eventually becoming a nuclear inspector at the Pearl Harbor shipyard before transitioning into work for Union Pacific Railroad where he worked as an electrical foreman the position from which he would later retire.

Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed sailing, travel, maps, and music of all kinds. He was known for his sense of humor, quick wit, and his popularity with children and animals.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 1, 2017 in the sanctuary of Second Presbyterian Church, 600 Pleasant Valley Drive, Little Rock, AR 72227. The church can be reached at (501) 227-0000. The family will hold a private internment service at the Wells family cemetery at a later date.
