of Little Rock, AR
December 8, 1946 - April 20, 2017
William Eugene "Gene" Bale, 70, of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord Thursday, April 20, 2017. He was born December 8, 1946. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ella (Howell) and John Bale, and his beloved in-laws, Myrtle and Tom Scarborough.
He was a 1965 graduate of Hall High and earned his BA in Business from UALR, where he was a member of the Golf Team.
Gene lived his life by trusting in the Lord. He was a devoted family man who genuinely cared for people and always offered words of encouragement. He was a man of extraordinary character, had an incredible work ethic, and was humble beyond measure.
Gene's passions included time with his wife, golfing with his sons, family vacations, and attending and watching Razorback games. After college, he followed in his father's footsteps for many years, working in the automobile industry. In later years, he worked for CHI St. Vincent. Gene was the family historical data base, remembering dates and events for which others would seek his council.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 42 years, Beverly (Scarborough); his sons, Thomas (Nicole) and Matthew (April); grandsons, Brock and Sawyer; his brother Johnny (Sharon); sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law: Julia & Tom Scarborough and Sandee & Bob Scarborough; plus many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family whom he loved and cherished dearly.
Visitation will be Monday, April 24, 2017, 5:30-7:30 P.M., at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 10:00 A.M., Pinecrest Memorial Park, 7401 AR Hwy 5, Alexander, AR. The PPBC Man Group Prime Time Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:30 A.M., Parkway Place Baptist Church, 300 Parkway Place Drive, Little Rock, AR.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Parkway Place Baptist Church.
This was one of Gene's favorite scriptures from the Bible: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
