December 14, 1921 - April 8, 2017

Sarah Viola McGowan, of Little Rock, began her life's journey on December 14, 1921. At the age of 22, she married the love of her life, Paul McGowan, their first step together across the threshold of life on March 30, 1944.

Now at the wonderful age of 95, she has once again stepped across the threshold hand in hand with Paul McGowan Sr., this time to spend eternity together.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a dedicated Razorback fan, had a love for country music and reading. She attended First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sister, Mary West; three sons, Paul McGowan Jr., Anthony McGowan (Charlene), and Donald McGowan (Amore'e); five grandchildren, Cynthia Hurd (Russell), Andrew McGowan (Dallas), Nicole Wilson (Bobby), Ashley Gallegly (Jason), Daniel McGowan (Kirsten), and thirteen great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 17, at Little Rock National Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 16 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Roller Chenal Funeral Home (501)224-8300.

My prayers are with all the family during this time of loss. Viola will be missed by many. She was a wonderful person in life that loved her children , grand children and great grandchildren. May her life ever be reflected in those she loved.
