Gwendolyn June Neidefer Kitchens, age 81, of Maumelle, went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Adoulph "Al" Kitchens.
Gwen was born March 15, 1936 in Amagon, Jackson County, Arkansas to Everett Lee Neidefer and Audra Rachell Davis Neidefer.
Gwen is survived by her loving children, daughter Shelly Harvill (Ebbie Alan); son Martin Kitchens (Holly); seven grandchildren, Jason Harvill (Lauren), Christopher Harvill, Brandon Harvill (Victoria), Kristen Kitchens, Nicholas Kitchens, Breanna Travis (Corey), Katrina Loe-Graham (Daniel), two great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
She is also survived by sister in-laws Pat Minyard, Mary Greene, Betty Kitchens, Jewel Kitchens and Lavern Kitchens; and brother in-laws Van Kitchens and Buddy Greene.
She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
She had a long career at Sears in Little Rock and retired from Joe T. Robinson Elementary School in Little Rock.
She enjoyed genealogy research, traveling with her wonderful husband in their RV, and spending time with her family.
Gwen last resided at Good Shepherd Retirement Center in Little Rock where she leaves behind many friends.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Tuesday April 4, 2017, at Roller Chenal Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm, Wednesday April 5, 2017, at Roller Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway with Pastor David Brown officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery in Little Rock.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pilgrim Rest Cemetery, 1812 Pleasant Run Rd., Malvern, AR, 72104.
