of Little Rock, AR
November 17, 1950 - February 25, 2017
Phyllis ''Penny'' Nixon Brawley passed away quietly in her favorite chair at her final home in Little Rock, Arkansas, after a long battle with cancer. Her smile never left her face, and she continued to rock her "pink bandanas" like the true Hippy Chick she was. Born on November 17, 1950 in Little Rock, Arkansas, she is preceded in passing by parents, Dorothy Rose Files Nixon and
Milburn "Cotton" Nixon. She was loving sister to Sandra Swofford of Jensen Beach, Florida and Mike Nixon of Arlington, Texas. She is survived by son, Bradley Walker of Baltimore, Maryland; daughter, Libby Brawley of Memphis, Tennessee; and Bethany Brawley Buck of Horseshoe Lake, Arkansas. She cherished her beloved "Great" Nephew, Garrett Owen Decker of Jensen Beach, Florida, and grandchildren, Bella, Eli, and Graham Buck.
Penny's love of music, friends, life, and karma has been felt the world around. Anyone who met her immediately was embraced by the power of her positivity. She spent most of her life in retail, and retired from employment as a Veterinary Professional, surrounded by her animals she so loved.
There will be a service and fellowship honoring her at Ivy Chapel Christian Church in Little Rock on Friday, March 3 at 11:00 am, with Shannon Gattis officiating. A celebration of her life is also being scheduled, with details available on social media. Roller-Chenal Funeral Home of Little Rock is handling all of her arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Pulaski County, 14600 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock, AR 72210, www.warmhearts.org, which will truly bring a smile to her face. The family of Penny wishes to thank all of those who know and love her, and who will help to keep her positive karma and joyful memories in our hearts forever.

And butterflies are free to fly
Fly away, high away bye bye"

It makes my heart sad that the world is no longer blessed with Penny's contagious smile, personality and the love she shared so freely! Thinking about her no longer being in pain or suffering, being able to dance and sing in the heavens puts a smile on my face. Love and miss her dearly!!
May you Rest In Peace for all eternity.
Sad to know that Penny is gone from this earth. So glad to know she no longer has the difficulties she was smiling through. I always called her Louise and I was Thelma. She started that car and took off for a peaceful eternal life. Thoughts and prayers for all those that are grieving now. Penny definitely left this world a better place. As I go through my days I can only strive to be the happy shiny penny she was and is. I know God opened the doors to Heaven wide as he welcomed her to the home of peace and happiness. I will see you later Louise! Keep smiling! Thelma
