Mary "Ruth" Shelton Williams, 83, departed this life on August 26, 2016. On January 12, 1933, at their humble home in Bigelow, the late Vester and Emma Shelton delivered a joy of their life into this world, and to Bigelow, Ruth will return for burial.
She is preceded in death by husband, parents, and all siblings: Lewis, Roy, Rex and Sue. Ruth married Sherman Williams in 1950 and they made their life in Little Rock, celebrating their 50th anniversary just before his death. They have left behind two daughters, Linda (Jess) Rocha of Texas, and Debbie (Jerry) Holland of Arkansas; three grandchildren, Amanda Holland Braswell and Bryce Holland of Arkansas, and Jessica Rocha Hayley of Texas, as well as seven great grandchildren.
Ruth graduated from Little Rock High School in 1951. She excelled in her 35 year career with Southwestern Bell, serving her fellow employees and Pioneers in the Benefit Office, retiring as Department Supervisor.
Memorial service will be held 4:00 P.M., Thursday, September 1, 2016 with visitation from 5:00 to 6:30 P.M. at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas 72211, (501) 224-8300.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Temple Baptist Church, where Ruth and family were members for decades, or Arkansas Children's Hospital.
