Robert Bradley Webb

of Little Rock, AR

November 20, 1926 - July 22, 2015

ROBERT B. WEBB, 88, of Little Rock, left to be with his Lord on Wednesday, July 22, 2015. He will be remembered as a loving, generous husband, father, step-father and grandfather, as well as a kind, giving and faithful follower of Jesus Christ.

A native of Guy, Robert earned his undergraduate degree from Harding University and his doctorate degree in microbiology from the University of Oklahoma in Norman. He was retired after a 35-year career as a research scientist for Argonne National Laboratory, a multidisciplinary science and engineering research center in the Chicago area.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jane Webb, and his second wife, Freda Sandlin-Webb. He is survived by daughters, Colleen Webb of Gurnee, Ill., and Rebecca Hileman (Delano) of Prairie Grove; step-sons, Jack Sandlin (Ev) of Hot Springs Village, and Jake Sandlin (Terry) of Maumelle; grandchildren Heather Hileman of Guy, Amy Becker and Mary Becker, both of Gurnee, Ill., Derek Sandlin of Kansas City, Jay Sandlin of Little Rock, Dr. Adam Sandlin (Hollie) of North Little Rock, Rachel Harness (Sam) of Bauxite and Luke Sandlin (Jordan) of North Little Rock; and seven great-granddaughters.

Robert was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ since moving to Little Rock in 1990. In recent years, he served as a member of the Harding University President's Council. Robert enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Branson, Mo., where he would often take in two musical shows a day. Robert was a voracious reader, and regularly would take a book with him to read over lunch and coffee at his favorite restaurants. He was a loving, mentoring grandfather, offering valued guidance for school, career, life, investments and, most of all, for following Christ.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home chapel with burial at Riverwood Memorial Gardens in Maumelle.
