Arlene Rowlett

of Guy, AR

July 28, 1937 - January 20, 2017

Arlene Gaither Rowlett, 79, of Guy, Arkansas, entered her heavenly home on Friday, January 20, 2017. Born July 28, 1937 in Quitman, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Oather and Ellen Debusk Gaither. Arlene was a graduate of Quitman High School. She was a homemaker and had also been employed as a nurse at Conway Regional Hospital. Words cannot describe the love she had for her Savior. Born into a Christian family, Arlene made it her daily goal to share the love of the Lord with all those she met. Even through her illness and the hardest times in life, she never complained. Instead, she focused her attention on the blessings she had been given by God.

Arlene is survived by her husband of 20 years, E.C. Rowlett; one sister, Lois Fowler Smith (Kenneth) of Greenbrier; two brothers, Deon Gaither (Karen) of Little Rock and Ellis Gaither (Barbara) of Greenbrier. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Crafton of Greenbrier; one sister, Dean Kennedy; one brother, Mack Gaither; and one nephew, Tim Gaither.

Although Arlene had no children of her own, she was blessed with several nieces and nephews that thought of her as their second mother. To them she was known as ''Sissy.'' They are Dwayne Kennedy (Carolyn), Paulette Hutchison (Greg), Delane Gaither (Lesa), and Lenett Thrasher (Steve) of Greenbrier; Doug Gaither and Lisa Stacy (Doug) of Quitman; Chad Gaither of Heber Springs; David Gaither (Julie) and Tammy Gaither of Little Rock. Her family also included a stepdaughter Carolyn Henderson (Jerry); three step-grandchildren Brian Henderson (Amy), Shannon Henderson (Traci), and Jayla Ruple (Jeremy); and a host of great nieces, nephews, step-great-grandchildren, and wonderful friends who she loved as family.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Roller McNutt in Greenbrier. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 23, 2017 at Copperas Springs Baptist Church in Guy with Pastor Gary Burdin officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Quitman.

Pallbearers will be great-nephews Blake Gaither, Parker Hutchison, Wayman Gaither, Cody Savoie, Cole Stacy, Hayden Thrasher, Hunter Thrasher, and Zack Gaither.
