William ''Bill'' Carter, 86, of Greenbrier, formerly of Kenosha, Wisconsin passed from this life on November 5, 2014 in Conway, AR. He was born on April 2, 1928, the son of the late George W. & Tabatha (Arrowood) Carter in Bryant, Wisconsin. Bill attended schools in Bryant & Antigo, WI prior to entering the U.S. Army in 1945 where he served in the European Theater of Operation in France & Germany, with further assignments to Austria, Korea, Japan, & Germany.
He retired in 1966 at Fort Leonard in Wood, MO, before returning to Kenosha, WI where he joined the University of Wisconsin Parkside Police Department. Bill retired from the University P.D. in 1984 as the Assistant Police Chief. He was a member of Trinity Faith Tabernacle, of Greenbrier, Arkansas, formerly a Deacon in the Church and currently Sunday School Super Attendant and Church secretary/treasurer. Bill was also a lifetime member of the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Officers Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Disabled Veterans, Association of Retired Military Musicians, AARP, and several other organizations.
On October 5, 1955, in Colorado Springs, CO, Bill married Gloria (Jan) Jackson who passed away on April 11, 2000. On June 27, 2001 in Greenbrier, AR, he married Geraldine (Rake) Reed.
Bill is survived by his wife, one son; G. Bruce of Kenosha, WI, two daughters; V. Yvonne Goldsberry (Matt), of Connellsville, PA, and E. Melinda (Dan) Cooper of Allentown, PA, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two sisters; Ruby Lee (John) Barnett of Antigo, WI and June (Frank) Brownell of Niagara, WI and many loving family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by one brother; James Carter, one sister; Izetta (Earl) Jones, one daughter; Kay, and one granddaughter; Alex.
Bill wishes are to go home to Kenosha, Wisconsin where a Funeral Service and burial will take place. A Family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Jerry and families, we are sorry to hear of Bro. Bill's passing. I was inquiring about you both recently and all was ok. We are so sorry for his passing, but assured he is in a better place because of the way he lived his life. Dedicated service to The Lord, his church and his family.
