James Askew ''Jimmy'' Jones, 82, of Cabot died August 3, 2018. Jimmy was born in the Rhoden's Mill area outside of Conway, Arkansas to Otis and Dottie Jones on July 19, 1936. He married Helen Hazel Jones in 1957 after serving 3 ½ years in the Air Force, stationed in Alaska and at LRAFB protecting the National Guard during the Central High crisis. He worked 32 years for Arkansas Farm Bureau Insurance as a District Sales Manager, CCLU, and LUTC. After retiring in 1999, Jimmy and Helen traveled across the US to all 50 states, driving to Alaska from Cabot 3 times.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife's parents, Carmen and Vera Hazel, siblings Bernadine Hazel, Robert ''Bobby'' Jones, Doris Howell, and Mary Purtle, and his beloved first grandchild Jason Allan Moore.

He is survived by his wife, Helen, of 60 years, his children Cheryl Anne (Jerry) Moore of Cabot, Jeryl Richard (Cindy) Jones of Humnoke, and Terri Elaine (Shannon) Ayers of North Little Rock. His treasured grandchildren Megan (Aaron) Aukes, Jacob (Sara) Jones, Carson Ayers, Rachel Jones, and Danielle Ayers, and the light of his life, great-granddaughter Ava Aukes.

He was a member of Cabot First Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as a deacon, along with many hours of volunteer service of remodeling and construction work at FBC and for members in the Cabot community. He was also a Mason and a Shriner.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 2:00PM at First Baptist Church in Cabot. Visitation will be Monday from 6PM to 8PM at First Baptist Church in Cabot. Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to FirstCare of First Baptist Church, 204 N 3rd St, Cabot, AR, 72023, the Alzheimer's Association, or your favorite charity.

Please accept my sincere condolences during this time of grief. My hope is that the words of Christ Jesus be of comfort, when he stated that "the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out" (John 5: 28, 29). We can also take comfort in God's personal promise to "wipe out every tear" and that soon, even "death will be no more" (Revelation 21: 4).
