Dear Floyd, Elizabeth and families,

We were so sorry to read of your Aunt Jean's passing. What a sweet and kind soul she was. We mourn with you at her passing, but look forward with renewed expectation to that certain reunion we will have with her in the clouds when we meet the Lord in the air.

Until that day, we will pray for that peace that passes all understanding to uplift you.

In His love,
Ann & Ed

I concur with Mr. Hussman, I too remember Ms. Jean delivering those Christmas Bonus Checks wearing that Christmas Hat and most of all wearing that CHEERFUL SMILE while delivering.

Ms. Jean you can now tally up numbers and pass out bonuses in another place of comfort. My prayers are with your love ones here and may your spirit find a resting place of peace.

I loved Miss Jean and have a lot of precious memories that include her and Perry. The best day I had at the Democrat-Gazette was finding out that she was here.
My heart goes out to her family and friends, she truly will be missed.

My love to you all,
Brenda

Psalm 116:15 says, “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.”

On behalf of Jean’s family we would extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to each and every one of you who have been her friend and colleague over the years. Hers was a long and full life. Her Lord and his church were her first her priority and devotion, followed by family, and closely followed by her many friends at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. She made a lot of friends and forged many, many relationships over 63 years. It was a happy day in her life when her paper prevailed over the Arkansas Gazette. Her job had sustained her well into her middle 80’s after the death of her husband, Perry.

She loved her church family and was blessed each and every Sunday when those that sat around her would come over and make a special effort to visit with her. Thank you so much for showing compassion especially during the past few years after a decline in health caused her to relinquish her Sunday school records duties. She truly loved it and looked forward to that hour on Sunday morning when she felt like she was needed and was able to contribute.

It was our privilege and honor to have cared for her in the later years of her life. However, it would have been impossible for us without the absolute love, devotion and care given to her by her special caretakers, Linda and Debra. Her family will be eternally grateful for the ministry you have provided over the past almost three years.

Jean would not have you grieve, we suggest she would say “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.”

When I first arrived at the Arkansas Democrat in 1974, Jean was one of the first persons to meet and welcome me to the newspaper. She has been there for many years, and she continued her faithful, loyal dedication to the newspaper for many more. Despite prevailing through some very difficult years for the newspaper, she always kept her cheerful, upbeat demeanor, and always had a reassuring smile. I still remember Jean going around wearing a Santa hat delivering Christmas bonuses to all employees each and every year. She was a great colleague and friend. Walter

Mrs. Jean will be missed. I will never forget her enthusiasm and fun on the cruise she went on with our group. In fact, she mentioned not too long ago, that she would like to go again.
She was always positive and with a smile.
God bless you all with comfort and wonderful memories.
