Sherry Ann (Estes) Stone passed away Friday February 17, 2017 in Conway Arkansas. She is survived by her husband of 63 years Jim Stone. In addition to her husband she is survived by her son James Stone, daughter Jennifer Sherrod, 6 grandchildren Alex Sherrod, Lauren Sherrod, Griffin Sherrod, Lance Papera, Blake Papera and Jessica Vail all of Conway.
She is preceded in death by her parents Guy Dan Estes and Lucille Adams Estes, Sister Nancy Miller, Brothers James Larry Estes, William Loring Estes and Guy Dan Estes Jr and daughter Laura Stone Papara Vail.
Sherry was a graduate of UCA with bachelor's degrees in Elementary education and Library Science. She was a lifelong educator teaching 8 years in Crossett, Arkansas, 3 years in Grand Prairie, Texas and the final 23 as a librarian in the elementary and middle school in Conway.
Sherry loved to be around her grandchildren and spent a lot of time with them. She had a love of travel and has been to most of the states with her family. Some of her hobbies were reading and interior decorating especially doing her Christmas village. Every year she would make a trip to War Eagle in northwest Arkansas to buy crafts to help decorate the house. She bought Christmas gifts for everyone and clothes for herself.

My deepest sympathy to all of you in the loss of Sherry. She was such a nice lady and I remember her fondly when I was in school years back. Please know that my family will be praying for you all during this time of loss. Romans 8:28

Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. I pray for God to give you the strength you may need at this time and the peace of knowing she is not in pain. Mrs. Stone was truly one of the strongest women I knew and will be missed but never forgotten.

My grandfather, James Marion Adams, was Sherry’s uncle. Family meant everything to Granddaddy. I know that if they were alive he, Grandmother, my mother, and my Uncle Jimmy would have joined me in wishing Jimmy Stone and all of his and Sherry’s close-knit family love and comfort. I cherish thoughts of the visits we’ve had over the decades. Sherry, Nancy and Aunt Lucille’s tales taught me so much about the Adams/Estes family.

Hoyt Bunn, I enjoyed your memory. Sherry truly was a sweetheart.

In 1953-54 Jim Stone announced to his 6th grade class at Crossett that he was engaged to his sweetheart, Sherry Estes. He told us that even her name meant "sweetheart." I know she was aptly named. May Mr. stone and the family be comforted at this time of grief.
