Freeda Helen Rice

of Conway, AR

March 16, 1931 - October 10, 2016

Freeda had a strong work ethic, demonstrated by her 28 years of service at the International Shoe Factory. After her retirement, Freeda started a successful tax preparation business, taking personal interest and care to help each and every one of her clients, a job she enjoyed immensely until her untimely passing.

Freeda was preceded in death by her devoted Husband of 60 years, John Alton Rice, who assured her that he would be waiting for her to help her
over to the other side, a thought that was always a great comfort to her. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Marvin Iberg and Herman Iberg.

She is survived by her children, Johnny Michael Rice, Helen Rae Rice Grinder and her husband Jerry Lee Grinder, and Jeannie Michelle Rice.
She is also survived by her very very much adored grandchildren, John Alton Rice III, Summer Rae Ashbey Rice Stanton and Jagger Michael Rice Stanton, her sister-in-law, Pat Iberg and her children, niece, Kathy Iberg Brents and her children, Carolyn Bateman and her children, as well as many beloved cousins and relatives, including Carma Jean Finch, Evylene Carter, Charlene Mullenax and Cordell Long and their children.

She was called "Mommy" by her children and many of their friends, and "MawMaw" by her grandchildren, but she carried the nickname "Mommy-All" because she was a Mommy to all of her family and many others. Freeda was a devout Christian first, loving and serving our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, always through selfless acts of kindness and generosity. She was a mother hen, creating a loving bond and connection between family that kept them flocked around her. Her family was the center of her existence and she never wavered in her commitment to family ties and values. She also knew that she was loved and adored by her family. They all put her on a pedestal and she was the Matriarch of the family.

She will be remembered with great affection and dearly missed by all who knew her, there will be always be a void in the hearts of her children,
grand-children and loved ones who have suffered the loss of her, but a great comfort in knowing our sweet angel watches over us, receiving all the joys and gifts of heaven while our sweet Daddy greets her at the gates and reunites with his beautiful, loving, and devoted wife.

Freeda would think it remiss to not thank all who helped and prayed for her during her final days, including the excellent staff and doctors at
Conway Regional Medical Center who gave their best efforts to save her, all of which brought comfort to the family in knowing it was the Will of Jesus that carried her to Heaven.

Pallbearers will be Craig Iberg, Roger Iberg, Jesse Rice, Cody Rice, Jeremiah Rice and Greg Sallis. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Wayne
Carter, Dr. Jeffrey Kirsch and Joe White.

Visitation will be Thursday October 13, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday October 14, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home. The internment (burial services) will be at Thorn cemetery in Greenbrier, Arkansas.

I was saddened to hear of Freeda's passing, but rejoicing to know where she is now. This world is full of pain and suffering and she will have no more. Freeda, Johnny & families have been such good friends of our family for years and even prepared our taxes. There are lots of good memories. Praying for strength and comfort for Helen Rae, Johnny Mike & Jeannie along with their families in the coming days. Please know that you are in our prayers.

To all of Freeda's families, I am so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. We had many years of working together at the shoe factory, lots of shoes made. Lots of memories. Especially, visiting with all of you up on the hill at your house, laughing, visiting, eating homemade ice cream, Johnny and Hallous laughing and having a great time. Please know that our families hold all of you dear to our hearts, and we will be in prayer for strength, comfort and joy as you go through this time of grief. But knowing that she is no longer suffering, and is reunited with your Dad and others, is a wonderful reminder that you all will be able to see them again one day. Our family loves you, and may God bless you all.

Freeda prepared my taxes for many years. I grew to have a deep respect and admiration for her over the years and always looked forward to our visits at tax time. She always had time to chat and ask about my family. I was shocked and saddened to hear of her passing but I know she is in a better place and with John Alton. My thoughts and prayers are of the family at this dark time of her passing. May you find peace and acceptance of God's will.
