February 20, 1928 - July 20, 2016

Maxine (Carter) Partain O'Donnell, 88, of 1980 Riverbend Rd. Heber Springs, Arkansas 72543 formerly of Harrisburg, Little Rock and Conway. She died on July 20, 2016 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Maxine was born in Chewalla, TN to Bennie and Ethel Carter on February 20, 1928. She was a member of Central Baptist Church of Conway.

Mom believed in Angels. The first time I (Pamela) remember her talking about them was after my sister, Connie past away. She said her grief was unbearable at the time but the Angel said ''God has already placed another baby with her, not to replace Connie, but to love as much. She carried me (Pamela) for weeks back and forth to the cemetery wondering why I didn't die but knew God was protecting us all.
The other time was when Mom was so sick a few years ago. The Devil was under her bed telling her to come with him. She kept saying No! No, Go Away! She called out to the Angels, who came and fought with her to run him away. That time she was meant to live.

Mom said on Tuesday, that she had not seen the Angels yet but knew they were near. She died so peacefully in her last minute that I knew they came for her and she was smiling in heaven to see Jesus, her family, friends, and the Angels. Pamela said that she wished she could see that smile and a friend said close your eyes and picture it, a friend told me.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Frank Partain and Art O'Donnell, brother, Billy Carter, and son, Steven Partain; two daughters, Connie Partain, Mona Partain Baker and great granddaughter, Amanda Grace Oldnettle.

She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Oldnettle (Gary), Cathy Partain; two brothers: Tommy Carter (Duwanda), Buford Carter (Shirley); two sisters, Martha Ann Cheshier (Don), Cathryn Wright;
8 grandchildren, Gary F. Oldnettle (Allison Maxwell), Michael Oldnettle (Kellie), Laura Hays, Carrie Thomas (Jeshua), Kermit and Kyle Partain (Amy), April and Nathan Baker, and 16 great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on July 28th 2016 at Harrisburg Memorial Park, Highway 14, Harrisburg, Arkansas 72432 (Poinsett Co.) with Rev. Sam Parker of Greenbrier First Baptist Church officiating.
