Wanda gave the best hugs! She and my uncle, Mel, took my brother and I on a trip to the Great Smokey Mountains when we were 10 and 11. We had never been anywhere without our parents. At the time, it was the biggest trip of our lives, and we made wonderful memories together. We have good memories of the visits we had with Aunt Wanda and my Uncle Mel, and her mother, Granny Shock. She was a story teller and a traveler. She would tell us of her many fishing trips, or going to Mexico, seeing the Rockies and the Grand Tetons. I will fondly remember her always. Many prayers for her family during this time. Sincerely, April Payne Brock

I spent a couple of hours with Wanda and Gliss in the Catfish house at Heber Springs and at Bee Branch many times over the years. They visited me at Rose Bud for coffee time and remembering old times quite often. Wanda was a very special person, who always cheered up the downtrodden and told long stories of her travels and the great sites she had seen. She always mentioned where she planned to go next, the Lord willing. About March of this year I had a good phone conversation with her and she seemed as cheery as ever. With her gone on to Paradise, there is a great, loving personality gone from the earth. May the Lord bless and comfort all of her kinfolks and friends.

I'm so sorry to learn of Wanda's passing. I didn't get to be around her often, but always enjoyed it when I did. I remember how much fun it was being with Wanda and our cousin, Lois Jean. Those two really had a ball together! Wanda was a very kind and thoughtful person. She wrote a poem for my mother's 90th birthday, which pleased mama so much. She will be missed.
