James Daniel "J.D." Hall of Conway passed peacefully from this life at his home on May 14, 2016. He was born on March 3, 1927 in Damascus, Arkansas to Daniel Elmer and Verlie Belle Presley Hall.
J.D. grew up in Damascus and Guy and was a graduate of ASTC/SCA (now UCA) with a BSE and Masters degrees. He retired in 1985 from teaching at Jacksonville High School where he was head of the math department.
He served in Germany with the US Army at the end of WWII. He married Mary Louene Rowlett on November 23, 1949. His hobbies and interests varied and changed over the years but included, hunting, fishing, camping, farming, carpentry, building each home that his family lived in and making several pieces of furniture, genealogy, music, crafting violins which he also played, restoring antique Ford cars, attending car shows and tours and playing music with his friends.
J.D. was a member of the Robinson and Center church of Christ. He was also a member of the Model T Ford Club and the Ford V8 club.
J.D. was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Louene R. Hall, his parents, two sisters; Valda Davis and Robbie Hall, and one brother; Warren Glenn Hall.
Surviving him is one son, Paul Wesley Hall and wife Susan, one granddaughter, Tiffany Hall, all of Conway, two sisters, Faye Hooten and husband Clark of Guy and Carolyn Winberry and husband Tom of Searcy; one brother; Doyce Hall and wife Janet of Little Rock and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his companion of the last two and a half years, Mrs. Florene Lloyd of Little Rock. In addition to family, two special ladies who were caregivers to Louene in the last years of her life and also were caregivers to J.D.; Mrs. Arlene Thompson of Greenbrier and Mrs. Sammie Hicks of Conway. The love and care they showed to both J.D. and Louene will always be remembered by the family.
Visitation will be at Roller McNutt Funeral Home on Monday, May 16, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral will be conducted at Roller McNutt Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 10 AM with Steve Norris officiating. Burial will follow at Copperas Springs Cemetery at Guy.

My wife and I are 1969 graduates of Jacksonville High School. We reflect warmly on Mr. Hall and what a fine teacher and person he was and will forever be in our memories.
He truly was a fine person and shaped us both with his integrity, caring, sense of humor and so many other qualities of the great man he was.
He will be missed.
Mr. Hall was my Algebra teacher at JHS in 1966. He was such a great teacher. So sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Hall. We lived down the road from him for many years. Saw him at the JHS Class of 1965 Reunion last year.

Uncle JD was one fine man and a great example to follow, he will be missed until we meet again.
