Hurchel E. Mays, 80 a resident of Lamar passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017, in Clarksville.

He was born January 21, 1937, in Deer, Arkansas to the late Glover C. and Stella Ester (Davis) Mays. Hurchel spent his working years as an auto mechanic.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by an infant sister and two brothers, Loyd Mays and Samuel Ray Mays.

Survivors include a sister, Ruby Rasa of Lexington, Missouri and three brothers, Edgar Mays, Norman Mays and Robert Mays.
Viewing hours will be from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 10, 2017, at the Roller-Cox Funeral Home in Clarksville.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 9, 2017, at the First Pentecostal Church in Cowell with the Minister Tony Mays officiating. Burial will follow in Crossroads Cemetery in Jasper under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home in Clarksville.

Pallbearers will be Dannie Huegel, Matthew Huegel, Travis Mays, Austin Mays, Alan Mays and Rose Starr. Edgar Rasa and Brent Thompson will serve as honorary pallbearers.
