of Lamar, AR

January 29, 1942 - June 15, 2017

Rev. Roy Robert Schreckhise Sr. was born January 29, 1942 in Kansas City, Missouri to Rev. Faxon & Margaret (Benjamin) Schreckhise. He passed away on June 15, 2017 in Ft Smith, Arkansas. Roy wore many hats in his life, and accomplished much: he picked cotton, was a pilot, worked at a casket factory, served in the U.S. Army, was a school teacher, a pastor, builder of houses and churches. He was a commercial fisherman, a welder, a farmer and cattleman, and a businessman. His greatest accomplishment, however, was his family: he was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and leaves a mighty legacy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Faxon Schreckhise.
Roy is survived by his wife Loda (Middleton) Schreckhise of Lamar; one son Roy and Leslie Schreckhise Jr. of Lamar;
two daughters Dena Danielle Farris of Ft. Smith and Chandi & Timothy Agee of Charlotte, NC; Grandchildren Morgan Farris, Robi & Diana Schreckhise, Brandon Farris, Kami & Ross Escobar, Jameson & Shelby Schreckhise; great-grandchildren Grayson, Bailey, Ryland, Harper, Heidi; three brothers Rev. Danny and Judy Schreckhise of Russellville, Rev. James and Phyllis Schreckhise of Clarksville, AR, Nathan and Cheryl Schreckhise of Kibler, AR; two sisters Sharon and Paul James of Clarksville, Elizabeth and John Churchman of Lamar; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 9:00 10:00 A.M. Monday, June 19, 2017 at the Christian Life Center. Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, June 19, 2017 at the Christian Life Center, with Rev. Vernon Long officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery with Timothy Agee, Jameson Schreckhise, Michael Warren, Josh Smith, Bob Honea, and James Sanderson Jr. serving as pallbearers.

I went to school with Roy, his brother Faxon and Loda as Loda and I were classmates. I always admired Roy and Loda for their outstanding witness for the Lord and their hard working lifestyle. Even though it has been many years since I have seen Roy, the memores of he and Loda are still fresh. Heaven gained a stalwart and he is waiting on many of us, including his precious family to join him for eternal rewards. In Love, Johnny Ray
