Lester R. Stone, 91 of Clarksville, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 in Clarksville. He was born September 13, 1925 in East St. Louis, Illinois. He retired from Western Union in 1990, after seven years of service; prior to that he was employed 36 years in the agricultural chemical industry. He was a member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, a World War II Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He moved to Arkansas in 1992. Lester is preceded in death by his Parents, Rex and Juanita Stone; two brothers, Lee Roy and Charles Stone; and by two wives, Mary Lou (Crader) Stone and Madine (Sterling) Stone.

Mr. Stone is survived by his children, Denise Pendleton and her husband, Danny of Virginia, Michael Stone and his wife, Peggy of Clarksville, Jeffrey Stone of Clarksville, Kerry Stone of Michigan and Donna Gadinis of Colorado; grandchildren, Dawn Laroque, Todd Pendleton and Larisa Stone; great grandchildren, Tanner, Katelyn, Austin, Carson, Allison, and Nickolas; and niece Sharon Cummins of Arkansas.

Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M., Monday, January 30, 2017, at the Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at the Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 1400 West Cherry Street, Clarksville, AR 72830.

This message is the same as for his wife Madene. So shocked. Les was a perfect gentleman and a wonderful neighbor. He also was a good Christian man and he will be missed. Sending prayers to the family.
