Maurice Ellsworth Johnson, Jr., 64, of Jonesboro, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016 at the Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN. He was born September 1, 1951 in Jonesboro. He was a retired sales rep for Roach Conveyor. He was a member of New McKendree Methodist Church. Maurice loved model cars and working as a mechanic.

Maurice is survived by his wife, Patricia S. Johnson; his mother, Patsy Bittinger Johnson; a son, Maurice Ellsworth Johnson III (Whitney); a daughter, Casey Lynn Oleynikov (Eugene); and two grandchildren, Alexis Leigh Johnson and Ally Marie Johnson.

Maurice is preceded in death by his father, Maurice Ellsworth Johnson, Sr.

Graveside services will be 3 pm Friday at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 1 pm until 2:30 pm Friday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

Scott Tyner, Tony Jones, Nathan Jones, Jonathan Frye, David Roach, Ron McCullards, Thomas Staten and Eugene Oleynikov will serve as pallbearers.

Jake Beyer and Obie Bates will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mr. Johnson's honor to the New McKendree Methodist Church, 225 S. High Street, Jackson, MO 63755.

I'm very sad to hear of his passing. We were in the same grade and graduated together from Jackson High. Maurice was always a great guy, never had a bad thing to say about anybody, plus his mom was my gym teacher, loved her! My thoughts and prayers go out to your family and his friends.
