Mattie ''Ruth'' Parker, 79, of Jonesboro, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 at St. Bernards Medical Center. She was born August 23, 1936 in Athens, AL, to William Jackson and Avis Lee Higdon Bryant. Ruth was retired from Nettleton High School. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. She loved Church and spending time with her great-grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Pete Parker; her parents; son, Stephen Lesley Parker; infant daughter, Baby Parker; great-granddaughter, DeShona Leann Locken; brothers, Calvin Alexander Bryant, William Jackson Bryant Jr.; sisters Marie Edna Rooks, Mary Rachel Boren, Dorothy Evelyne Jones.

Survivors include; daughter Tonia Holloway; grandchildren, Krystle (Jay) Garmon, Brittney (Justin) Collins; great-grandchildren, Daiza Locken, Kaden Locken, Devyn Locken, Kyla Locken and Drake Collins.

Service will be Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home Chapel with Greg Stull officiating. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jay Garmon, Justin Collins, Jon Bryant, Paul Gibson Jr., Kaden Locken and Devyn Locken. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Sheard and Drake Collins.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 5:00 PM '''' 8:00 PM.
