Bobbye Newman, 82, a resident of Scranton passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016, in Fort Smith.
She was born April 25, 1933, in Dublin to the late, Charles and Ethel (Tritt) Walker. Bobbye was a member of the St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Logan County Extension Homemakers and the Mother's Society. She was an avid quilter and actively served the Scranton community. She was the co-owner of Friendly Tavern in Scranton for 37 years. Bobbye was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Albert ''Dutch'' Newman.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Carrie Newman of Lavaca; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patty and David Adams of Paris and Susan and Doug Linker of Scranton; a foster son, Ronnie King and wife, Kathy; eight grandchildren, Melanie Treat, Chris Adams, Angela Sieck, Michelle Adams, Jolie Linker, Clay Linker, Scott King and Kelly Ullrich; 18 great grandchildren and her beloved dog, Jesse.
Memorial visitation will be 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at the St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Scranton. Rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m.
The memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at the St. Ignatius Catholic Church with Fr. Josely Kalathil, I.M.S. officiating under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
Memorials may be made St. Ignatius Catholic Church.
