Thelma Angelley

of Harrison, AR

March 28, 1945 - October 10, 2015

Thelma Louise Angelley was born March 28, 1945, in Idabel, Oklahoma, the youngest child of William Rollin Angelley and Lillie Aaron Angelley. She was a wonderful person with a heart full of love. She was a mother who raised five children, Shari, who preceded her in death, Billy, Angela Kathryn, Kimberley and Amy, all born in Lubbock, Texas. She had her hands full with five kids! She passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015.

Thelma grew up in a large family, the youngest of seven children. Her brothers and sisters were J. R. Angelley, Kathryn Angelley, Stanley Angelley, William Angelley, Eleanor Angelley and Jerry Angelley. She was born in Idabel, Oklahoma March 28, 1945. After the death of her father in 1948, her mother moved the family to Lubbock, Texas to be near her parents. In 1949, her mother married her step-father, Kenneth Smith, who became the father in her life. The later moved to the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma area and in later years she found herself moving to Arkansas.

Thelma spent much of her childhood in Lubbock. She was never able to attend college or have a lot of money, but what she did have was a loving heart for everyone she met. She was rich in other ways. Along with four of her children, Thelma is survived by her sister, Kathryn Herd; her brother, Butch Angelley; and her sister-in-law, Helga Angelley. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lexus Wood, Elijah Weaver, Skylor Weaver, Mike Barnes, Sophia Weaver, Dalton Ramsdell, Mariah Weaver, Taylin Barnes and Isabella Shultz.

She will be missed by all, but her memory will live in us all forever. We couldn't have asked for a better mother.

''My greatest memories of Mom are how hard working she was and her love for her family and friends. I hope that I have inherited some of those traits.''

Graveside service was Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at Gaither Cemetery, with Bro. Kerry Liggett officiating.

Billy Weaver and Taylin Barnes served as pallbearers.

My heartfelt condolence to the family. Death was not God's purpose for us. The Bible tells us that the man Job lost all his children to the enemy death and asked God, "If a man dies can he live again?" (Job 14:14). Jesus answered Job's question at John 5: 28, 29 by telling us that our loving merciful God has promised to bring our dead loved ones back to life again. He demonstrated his ability to raise people from the dead when he brought back to life his friend, Lazarus. Yes, Lazarus was resurrected back to his “earthly” home. (John 11:11-14; Psalms 37:10,11) What a wonderful blessing from our heavenly Father (Psalm 83:18). We can put our faith and trust in God’s word because God does not lie. (Numbers 23:19)
