Terry please know my heart is broken and I am praying for the entire family. She touched me and my family when we lived by her on Dana and she loved my boys like her own and I tried to visit before she moved with you. She got to meet my grandson and see Adrian again. But I miss her sooo very much. She was my inspiration ... Please call me anytime...870-882-7266

My heart aches, I am so saddened to hear of this beautiful woman's passing. I am also very upset that I did not find out until this moment after all events are over. She was my neighbor and friend. She loved my boys and especially my youngest. She always wanted to see them and give him something. I hope the family sees this and knows that my heart goes out to them and I am hurting right now as they are. She is a true angel of God and I know she is dancing with her husband and not feeling any pain anymore! I love you Mrs. Lavern and I am so sorry I did not get to say my goodbyes.... till we meet again hugs...

Aunt Vern was always a big part of my life. She provided a lot of love to those around her. I'd like to share some of my most cherished memories of Aunt Vern. The Thanksgivings in Jonesboro were the best; especially when we were kids playing ping pong. I also loved Christmas in Gobler when the whole extended family was there. But maybe my favorite memories are of our numerous outings on the Spring River - somehow Aunt Vern always managed to be the better fisherman. Even though she would tell me where to cast and what bait to use... She knew that river like no one else. Aunt Vern was also kind and generous. The way she welcomed Laurel and April into the family made her the best aunt ever. Without any type urging or asking, she always knew how to brighten someone's day. People like her are few and far between. She was a very special person and one who will be sorely missed.

Terry, I am so sad to learn of Lavern's death. I was just reminiscing with Andy Peeler about her last week. I am in Washington DC with Janet Shepherd Utley and won't be home until Wednesday night. I'm very sorry I can't be there. You are in my prayers. I know how hard it is. Love, Carol

We loved her SO much! She was like a second Mom to both Cliff and myself and we will never forget her kindness to us while we were growing up. I will never forget the excitement I felt each time I saw her car pull up to the cabins. And I loved living with her while going to college at A-State, we got along so well. We love you guys!
