Robert ''Bob'' Parsons, 71, of Lamar, passed away April 21, 2014. He was born October 18, 1942, in Johnson Co., Arkansas, to the late Everett Parsons and Edith Payton. He was a member of Hedgeway Church in Lamar and enjoyed fishing, boating and camping. He worked for White Valley Lumber Mill; he started sawmill work at the age of 14 and continued work at several sawmills.
Bob is survived by his wife, Carolyn Parsons; one son, Mike Penny of Phoenix, Arizona; a daughter, Michelle Carson and husband, Jake, of Redding, California; two stepsons, Brian Morrow and wife, Susie, of Hartman and Keith Morrow and wife, Emily, of Coal Hill; one brother, Jack Parsons and wife, Maureen of Washington; a sister, Jean Cobb of Boise, Idaho; stepfather, Ray Payton of Fort Smith; stepmother, Sena Parsons of Clarksville; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home. Bob's funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2014, at Hedgeway Church, with Bro. Don Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Roy Moody, Jerry Birkhahn, Ashley Birkhahn, John Volkmann, Steve Campbell and Charlie Lockhart.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Jordan Volkman.

I am so very saddened to learn of Bob's passing. He is my first cousin and I have many fond memories from our childhood. Sending prayers for peace and comfort for all the family.
My deepest sympathies to this family. I will remember Bob with good memories from when I worked for him. He was a man full of life and loved to laugh. My prayers to Carolyn.
