of Marshall, AR
March 30, 1949 - April 17, 2014
Melanie Hall Campbell, 65, of Snowball, AR, passed away April 17,2014 in Little Rock. She was born March 30, 1949, in Little Rock to Dorothy and Lester Leck Hall.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leck, and one son, Colin Hall Campbell.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Kenny of the home; one son, Rob of Witts Spring; one grandson, Kendrick, of Marshall; one granddaughter, Charlie, of Witts Spring; her mother, Dorothy Hall of Marshall; two brothers, Jim Hall of Annapolis, MD, and Bob and wife, Nell Hall of Houston, TX.
Melanie graduated from Marshall High School, and received her Bachelor's of Science degree at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. After graduation, she taught GED classes at Snowball and Leslie, and developed the Gifted and Talented program in Marshall.
Melanie was instrumental in bringing healthcare into small town areas, many of which had never before had the opportunity for quality, affordable care. She delighted in knowing that all people, regardless of financial status, could receive top of the line care. She had a heart for the communities and worked tirelessly to promote health care in all areas of Northwest Arkansas. Her vision was realized when the Marshall clinic opened in 1994 serving the healthcare needs of Searcy County. During Melanie's leadership as Executive Director, the patient population grew to over 13,000. Without a doubt, Melanie's vision grew even more than she could have imagined. She worked to ensure that not only the patients were served, but that Boston Mountain employees had quality jobs and benefits. She truly made a difference to every life she touched. Melanie retired in 2012 after almost 20 years of dedication to Boston Mountain Rural Health Center.
Melanie married her high school sweetheart, Kenny on May 30, 1970 at First Baptist Church in Marshall. She always had a twinkle in her eye when she told stories about her family. Her pride and joy were her two grandchildren, Kendrick and Charlie. She doted on them daily.
Although her passing has left a huge void in the hearts of all she touched, she will live on in our memories. She was smart, witty and beautiful. She loved the color red. She was known far and wide for her love of raw onions, but most of all, she loved her family more than anything. She would stop you on the street to tell you about her grandchildren.
Her visitation will be Monday April 21, 2014 at 1:00 2:00 PM preceding the service at 2:00 PM. in Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, AR, with Rev. Jim Arnold officiating. Burial will be in Campbell Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers: J.T. Sanders, Tom Ackerson, Jeff Magness, Don Barrett, Rudy Oerlemans, Dave Buttgen.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Kendrick Campbell College Fund at Simmons Bank.

I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your wife (Marinda Holliman sent me a letter telling what happened). Since I don't have your address, I am just posting a note in your guestbook rather than sending you a card. I just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I would love to hear from you some time (my home phone is 360-357-3814).

I just learned about Melanie’s passing. Even though we were never together often, she was always so cheerful, positive and truly interested in how others were. Just a couple weeks ago I read a post from her about the great relationship she had with my grandmother Eva. She will be missed by all her relatives.
