Ila Lorene Byram, 80, passed away on April 16, 2014, at her home in Leavenworth, Kansas, after a long illness.
Her service will be held on Saturday, April 19th, at 11:00 AM in the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel at 1008 Main Street in Melbourne, Arkansas. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. She will be laid to rest in the Melbourne Cemetery following the service.
Lorene was born a twin, May 20, 1933, in Forty Four, Arkansas, to Daniel and Lola Layton. She married Deloyd Byram, Oct. 21, 1950. They moved from Arkansas to Kansas City, June 3rd, 1951. Three children came of their union: Barbara, Eddie and Randy; and seven grandchildren: Jason and Vanessa Vaughn; and Chris, Jill, Deloyd, Troy and J.D. Byram.
Lorene worked at American Can Company in Kansas City, Missouri, and at the Hacienda Café in Kansas City, Kansas, but she preferred her job as wife and mother. She also enjoyed gardening, attending church, playing Rook and working on astrology charts.
She was preceded in death by her son, Eddie Byram, her parents, Daniel and Lola Layton, and her twin sister, Nila Florene Claxton.
She is survived by her husband, Deloyd; her children, Barbara (husband, Robert) and Randy (wife, Emily); and brothers: Emil, Arthur, Leonard, and Remil Layton.

So sorry to hear about Lorene. I only learned of it today.
I know she was sick for a long time but she had such loving care from her family. I hope you can find some comfort knowing that you did your best for her.

I am so sorry to hear of Lorene's passing. I will always remember how you all welcomed me when I came to your house. She was one of the most loving, kind people I have ever met. I'm sure her and Eddie are doing all kinds of crazy things together now. Barbara I would love to catch up. If there is anything I could do for any of you, just let me know.
