Victor “Cowboy” Arthur Helmich, age 74, of Benton, died November 21, 2009 at Saline Memorial Hospital Hospice House in Bryant. He was born in Bauxite on August 21, 1935 to the late Oscar and Ida (Jones) Helmich.
Mr. Helmich retired from Reynolds Metal Company and was a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church in Benton. He loved turkey hunting and deer hunting and was a fisherman.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Lita Radican Helmich; two sons, Jacky (Lauretta) Helmich of Lakeland, Florida and Jonny (Toni) Helmich of Benton; three daughters, Tammy (Benny) Powell of Lonsdale; Arla Helmich of Benton, and Janna (Bryan) Jennings of Benton; one brother, Oscar Sonny Helmich of Benning, California; one sister, Brenda Watts of Bryant, thirteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 25, 2009 Sharon Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Richard Hamlin and Bro. Muncy Harris officiating under the direction of Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (501-315-4047). Interment will follow at Sharon Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at the funeral home.
