Alicetean Hays

Alicetean Hays, 82, of Batesville died Saturday, November 21, 2009 at White River Medical Center in Batesville.

She was born March 6, 1927 in Floral, Arkansas the daughter of Oran L. Gay and Cora (Brown) Gay.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Swaims Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Darrell Hays of Batesville; brother, Glen Dale Gay of Floral; two grandchildren, Allison Hancock of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Keith Hays of Batesville; four great-grandchildren, Hannah Moore, Alexander Hancock, Matthew Hays and Mallory Hays; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jess N. Hays; three brothers, Ray Gay, Kenneth Gay and O. L. Gay.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Roller-Crouch Chapel in Batesville officiated by David Wesley.

Pallbearers are Wayne Gay, Rusty Gay, Ronnie Gay, Wesley Gay, Keith Hays, and Andrew Hancock.

Burial will be in Egner Cemetery by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
