Donald Lee Davis, Sr.

Donald Davis, age 77, of Harrison, died Thursday, November 19, 2009, at his home. He was born October 11, 1932, in Washington, DC, the son of Robert W.
and Alice (Tyler) Davis. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his grandson, Donald Lee Davis, III; his brother, Robert Davis; and his parents.

Donald was a member of Red Oak Baptist Church and a former member of Leonardtown Baptist Church in Maryland. He lived in Waldorf, Maryland for forty five years and was the former owner of Davis Florist in LaPlata, Maryland for thirty years. Mr. Davis served his country in the U. S. Army from 1951 to 1953. He retired from Prince George County Police Department where he was a police officer. Donald enjoyed his family and grandchildren.

Donald Lee Davis, Sr. is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Davis, of the home; his children, Deborah A. Ellis and family of Owing, Maryland, William E. Davis and family of Waldorf, Maryland, Judith M. Hilmer and family of Lusby, Maryland, Donald Lee Davis, Jr. and family of Harrison, Cindy S. Arnone and family of LaPlata and Suzanne L. Rog and family of Hollywood, Maryland.

Donald is also survived by his brother, Samual B. Davis, of Maryland; fourteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation was Sunday, November 22, 2009, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

Funeral service was Monday, November 23, 2009, at Red Oak Baptist Church, with Pastor Gary Crawford officiating.

Pallbearers were the immediate family.

Interment was in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
